Korea's First Pet-Friendly Shelter for Survivors of Domestic Violence
Korea Women's Hotline founded Korea's first shelter for survivors of domestic violence in 1987.
Now, as we mark our shelter's 40th anniversary in 2027, we are building something new.
Korea's current shelter system was designed around containment, not recovery. Rooms are shared, stays are short, and survivors with companion animals are turned away. We are changing that.
Our new shelter will offer one private room per resident, dedicated spaces for children, and professional counseling facilities designed for long-term recovery — and it will be the first shelter in Korea to welcome survivors alongside their companion animals.
Help us build a shelter where no one gets left behind.
